Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
FYI I emailed Source Naturals about what "spray dried" means and if their organic version is spray dried (it doesn't say on the bottle while the Yaeyama does). This was their reply.

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
Have you all talked about the mercury risks at all? Here's one thing a friend showed me: http://onibasu.com/archives/am/27356.html

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
hmm...I don't know anything about that website. That article was difficult to read. Not very well written imo.

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
That was my impression as well... My SIL is a traditional chinese med dr who keeps herself well educated on latest research and she recommends it as a blood detox... Also, I didn't see any research sources to substantiate their claims.

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
Thanks for posting that info! Very good to think about that.
My thoughts-- just like any food, where it is grown is extremely important. Secondly, hair tests only show what has been circulating and deposited in hair, not new exposure. Hair tests are useless for testing a detoxification protocol. Hair may actually be one method of excreting. It gets it out of the body. The studies on breastmilk carry far more weight with me and they support the idea that chlorella helps excrete toxins. If anyone finds anything else please share! |

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
I don't think that was an article so much as someone's response on a wiki type forum. It is really all over the place, but the thing that made me laugh was this part:
"I have seen numerous tests where someone suddenly shows up with this or that heavy metal after using chlorella" This or that heavy metal. LOL. Very scientific.

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
Ordered some of this with my purchase from vitacost. I need to lose 15-20 lbs and although I haven't really been on the wagon over the holidays, I've had huge amounts of trouble keeping my intake under control as well as periodic carb/sweet cravings over the last year while breastfeeding. I feel like I am constantly STARVING and need a LOT of protein to ward off the carb cravings. I also feel like I have huge spikes and crashes in blood sugar, even when I'm eating quite well. I'm really hoping the chlorella will help balance me out and get my eating under control!

Re: Chlorella ... tell me about..
Literally the ONLY time since puberty that my blood sugar has been stable and I haven't been tormented by out of control cravings is when I'm on chlorella. I think you'll be thrilled.
