Stuck guinea pig

Under my super complicated,extremely heavy couch. I need two strong men to move it. There is a lot of metal involved.
Food,which always works,is not working. I used a stick to try and prod him out which hurt my heart but he just wheeked a lot and moved in a circle in his spot. I don't think he can get out.
My daughter is in hysterics.
I am sooooo angry that she let him run loose while I was resting.
I don't know what on earth to do. I can barely reach him with my fingers.
Update:#12 runaway piggy is safely secured

Breathe mama. It's likely that he's just scared and piggies feel safe in an enclosed spot. I would bet he can get out. If everyone stays calm, he just might. I'm praying

Thank you. Sigh. My three year old filled his brand new underwear with poop while I tried to get Oreo out. He bit me hard-a first. My husband is on his way home.
I think I'm done with the guinea pigs.

That sounds like a whole combo of things that are frustrating.

FWIW we've been there with the under the couch and hysterics thing. Not fun.

I would ignore the piggy. Tell A that piggy will come out when they go to bed and it is quiet. Set food out and then wait, once the kids are in bed and all is quiet, he is likely to come out.

Oh my,thank you for the hedgehog story!
Husband lifted the couch on one end and tipped it wayyyy up so I could grab him with a pair of work gloves. He had never bitten before yesterday and I wasn't taking chances.
Poor little guy! He made some very loud,scared noises but he's in his cage now.
I'm going to have to get a piggy pen so A can safely play with them.

We had an incredibly heavy 2-seat hide-a-bed type couch from the 70s. HEAVY. We also (during the first year of our marriage) had an African pygmy hedgehog. My husband was letting the hedgie run around on the living room floor. At the time, he had a back injury. Also at the time, I was pregnant. I said, "Just make sure she doesn't run under the couch!" "Yup, no problem, it'll be fine." Right. So, there she was, under the couch. We tried melon. We tried cucumber. We tried kingworms. Hedgie LIKED her dark, enclosed space. Now, a word about hedgies--when they're calm and their spines are all down, they're no problem to handle. When the get a little uptight their spines start to rise. When they're quite upset their spines stand out all over. But when they're REALLY scared/upset they roll into a tight ball AND their spines actually interlace and point different directions so that there is no easy way to handle them except very gingerly from directly above them, bringing hands in on either side. Got that image? Now, remember, him injured, me pregnant. Remember that part? Right. So he heaves the couch up from one side, but of course there's no way that I can get above the hedgie, so I had to ROLL the poor thing out, shoving her again and again, until she was out from under the couch and DH could put it down again. The hedgie made the fiercest scared-hedgie noises I ever heard her make, for about 10 minutes straight, before she calmed down and began to un-prickle herself. I don't think she ever forgave me for that, to be honest, even though it was all DH's fault in the first place. But did she blame him?
