nooch and Passover
I was on a website today and it mentioned not using nutritional yeast for Passover. If it's inactive why can't it be used? Last Passover we weren't all eating Vegan and the only one using the nooch heavily was my dd and I hadn't really thought about it all til I saw that. Just wondered to see if I need to alter some meal plans for that week.

Re: nooch and Passover
I think it's something you're going to have to interpret for yourself. Everything I've seen/read from a Jewish perspective is extremely . . . restrictive . . . nothing with flour at all in it, so no regular pasta or anything. Just in case the flour "accidentally" starts to react with the water in the recipe.
Personally, I don't follow those rules. I go with the idea that I read in the Bible, which is that it's to remember they didn't have time to let bread rise, so they used a flat bread. Pasta is flat and doesn't require a raising time . . . so I don't worry about that, same with tortillas, etc. I've never looked into Nutritional Yeast per se . . . we're vegetarian, not vegan, so I rarely use it, but off the top of my head, I think I'd be ok with using it, it doesn't add leavening. . .

Re: nooch and Passover
Most people have no understanding that nutritional yeast is not YEAST/Leaven. There isn't any reason to restrict something that cannot be used as leaven.
