Default Here's a recipe for RAW BBQ chicken fingers *UPDATE* tried it!

check it out!!! I can't wait to try it. What kind of lentils do I buy to sprout? where do I get some?

*UPDATE* - OK, so I haven't eaten whole one yet, as I just got up, but I tasted one when I tried to flip them. They're yummy. They don't taste exactly like a hunk of chicken, more like a really good imitation buffalo finger, but not spicy. Better than Gardenburger or Boca though. Ideally, they should be flipped halfway through dehydrating, but my dehydrator sucks (the top ones weren't done & the bottom ones burnt! even at 105degrees) they were actually a bit crumbly. But they are totally worth it, and I bet if I had made them thicker they would have been netter. Also, it said to dehydrate for 10 hours, mine have been in for 17 hours and aren't done. I guess it depends on your dehydrator. Oh, and as for the lentils. I had a bag of red lentils (I don't know how many eyars or at least months old it was ) and I wasn't sure they'd work, but they did. It was just the cheapo,69 cent/ 1lb shelf bag.

Anyway, Out of 10 I give this recipe a 9.5

I don't know why you can't see it. There's a great pic. Here's the recipe. I have mine dehydrating right now...I can't wait to try it! I'm going to make homemade honey-mustard (raw of course!) to go with it!

Batter Ingredients

2 Cups Carrots
2 Cups Sprouted Lentils
3/4 Cup Orange Juice
1/4 Cup Onion
4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Honey
1 1/2 Tablespoons Curry
1 Tablespoon Poultry Seasoning
2 teaspoons Sea Salt
Instructions
The Raw Version of Imitation Chicken, These are spicier than my Chick-Un Patties, and are delicious served with honey-mustard sauce.

First in a food processor, not a Vita-Mix, process the carrots until diced.

Second, add in all of the other ingredients, then blend until well blended. (These should not be completely smooth, but more grainy looking). Then pour onto a Teflex on some Teflex sheets, which fit on top of a mesh dehydrator screen. Pour into ablong 2x4 mound shapes.

Now, dehydrate at 105 degrees for 10 hours. ( flip half way through if possible)

Notes: These will seem a little soupy before you dehydrate them, just pour them out and try to build them up as much as possible, you don't want them to be paper thin. It is very important to use the right amount of orange juice.
