Hand, foot, mouth?

Near his mouth, started pink and flat, now raised w/ a white cap. He won't let me look in his nouth. Fever since monday night, suspect sore throat.Ideas, advice?

Are you talking about a rash? (I'm guessing you were doing some nak typing)

Is there any type of rash on the hands or feet? My ds had HFM twice. 1st time the only rash was in the mouth. 2nd time it was all three places. The sores in the mouth are like tiny little ulcers that burn. (I know b/c I got it too

) and we both had fevers. It was about 2-3 years ago, but remember the dr giving ds a liquid medicine that he was to take before eating to help coat his mouth so it wouldn't burn/hurt to swallow.
It is contagious so be careful for yourself.
Hope he gets feeling better soon.

It is only one spot near his mouth. I can't get a view inside to see what is going on. He has nothing on his feet or hands. I am cringing over here though b/c yesterday dd and ds were blowing raspberries at each other...spit flying everywhere. What is a mother to do? I have no idea where he would have picked it up since he never touches anything when we go anywhere. If it was dd, I wouldn't be surprised, b/c she's two and touches EvErYtHiNg. I don't know...maybe I just want to know...

I had it and got no spots in/around my mouth, just hands and feet, abs got it and just had her mouth, and kenz had just her hands

as far as I know with HFM you just have to let it runs it course..but I haven't personally dealt with it.

Said to keep controlling the pain with regular doses of tylenol at day and motrin at night. If he isn't showing signs of feeling better on Tuesday (the 1 weeks mark), call and they'll see him again. Keep up the fluids to prevent dehydration, which can be a big problem with this virus b/c they don't want to drink cause it hurts. She said imagine the worst sore throat you've ever had...
