You might be a crazy vegan attempting to raise a crazy vegan if....
Somebody gave you a bunch of play food and as you washed each piece you threw out the chicken, steak and peeled any labels that featured animal products.... The hot dogs would have stayed as veggie dogs but were so small I tossed them as a choking hazard... I mean, I know our kid will eventually be curious about meat, but I figure we will be buying more pretend food over the years and at some point it will be appropriate to let the fake meats stay so they can pretend with them to help their curiosity, but I just dont see the need to have the meats in the play kitchen when the lil one will be too young to realize other people eat meat- I dont want to normalize seeing meat in our home. LOL.

The funny thing with most of the play sets I've seen is it is all boxes and cans of stuff, cartons of milk, and meat. No bags of beans, potatoes, or fruits and vegetables. A while back we got some cute felt veggies from an Etsy shop. We also have some wooden ones. For your future veggie. |

I was pretty impressed that this one featured a LOT of veggies! Carrots, potatoes, peas, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms, pepper, onion...cant think what else...
I love the cloth and wooden foods too though and hope to have those one day. This is just a cheapo plastic hand-me-down set that I figure will do until the kid is older. Do you find your littles are really curious about meat? |

We aren't vegan, but dd gets very sheepish if meat is mentioned. Only two of our wooden play sets came with meat, though neither piece is detailed. She only feeds them to a stuffed animal cat. When we watch cooking shows we talk about what we could sub in for the meat. She loves animals so it's been pretty easy.
