Re: what would you do...quick please...vitamix
Mine is a different model, but it doesn't have a plastic hole cover. I just throw a towel over it to keep splatter off the ceiling. Also - you know the reason they use those in smoothie shops?... BEcause they last FOREVER and ROCK and work SOOOOOO well!!!! I would TOTALLY get it!!!! (ANd if you don't like it, you could always sell it on ebay & at least get back what you paid.)
I just looked at themodel- it IS just for drinks, though I'm sure it's powerful enough it would probably crush nuts and stuff too if that's what you want it for. Vitamixes are awesome. Also, that hole is small enough, you could just cover it w/your hand while you're blending. |

Re: what would you do...quick please...vitamix
It seems fine. It doesn't make any claims to grind grain or anything heavy duty, but I've used regular blenders to do that when I've been in a pich and if they worked, then the Vitamix (king of all blenders) certainly should. I'd be excited about it. Mine is a 3600...I swear it's like 30 years old.

I think you should get them both and send me one! LOL
Seriously, I'd need to know more about the $200 one to give an opinion. AFA the thingie to cover the hole, won't Vitamix sell ya one? Maybe if you call their customer service, they'll send ya one for free. I do that with the kid's toys sometimes when we're missing a piece |

Re: Vitamix ANOTHER option....Now wwyd?
the 200 one is from a guy i talked to about getting a saladacco for only 10 bucks! i was whining about getting raw food stuff on the phone to him and asked if he had a vitamix...he said...he would get me one for 200 dollars and it's only 2 years old because he works at a rest. making raw food snacks!!!! i about passed out......
so i can get a new one....for about 200 bucks...well, 2 years old!! or one that's been used in a smoothie shop and doen'st have the plastic covering thingy for 125..... and the other one is older...much older.... |
