Those who crochet- I need help

My mom likes to crochet - nothing fancy, mainly baby blankets for the local hospital. Her birthday is coming and I need ideas on a gift. I do not crochet. Any ideas?

You can buy a bunch of yarn and make a yarn cake. Don't think I'm explaining this well. Google yarn cake, some people have some really creative ideas.

We've done the "Magic Ball of Yarn" swap in GCM before. Basically, you buy some yarn and wrap it in a ball, but while you're wrapping you add little gifts that the person discovers as she is crocheting with the yarn.

My mom enjoys listening to audio books when she crochets. So maybe an Audible.com or similar GC?

Ask a local yarn person to make her a couple of special skeins, in favorite colors or something?

I find crochet dries my hands out, so a nice hand cream like L'Occitane's would be welcome.

Edie Eckman has a new crochet boarders book just made available earlier this month. Edie is a very popular crochet designer and has published a lot of books. I preordered the new one for my daughter and it is a super good book!

The Amour hooks are really nice if she doesn't have those already. The have a squishy colorful handle. Knit picks has a good price on them online or Joanne's with a good coupon.

I loove getting fancy crochet hooks

and there's a lovely crochet book, I'll get the title once I'm home. I love Ice Yarns. There's also lovely little gold plated scissors you can get that's just for cutting yarn/thread, stitch markers, I got a pouch to keep my hooks in that said "wee rach's crochet pouch" on it that's so handy.

If you didn't want to give yarn, maybe a gift certificate to her favorite yarn shop?

I like project bags.

If she like gadgets, maybe a box to put her hooks in, scissors, or a dial pendant she could wear on the plan when scissors are not allowed.

Pretty stitch markers. Possibly even on Etsy something especially made for crochet. (If you get the enclosed circle markers, those are only for Knitters)

A fancy tape measure or row counter.

I've been lusting after Furls hooks for a while.

I've seen some nice bamboo hooks in the store, too that look like they'd be really comfortable to use. (Mine are all standard, plain, boring aluminum or steel hooks, so I can't give a real review.)
