Re: kombucha 101 thread!
I'm having to dilute mine with a little fresh apple juice or water to drink it (this pregnancy hates sour stuff)

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
Once my brew is done can I just start another one with the same SCOBY?

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
I was so worried I hadn't done the tea right I bought a bottle to compare. SO my tea tastes like the store bought kind.
I finally let dh taste the kt that has been in the fridge. He likes it! Tomorrow we will be trying the strawberry and peach once I have been letting ferment a second time. They look good! I went ahead and started the second batch. Looks like kt is going to be moving quickly around here.

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
I got a hugely thick scoby this go around. I'm not ready to start another batch as I have almost 3 liters worth of KT, so I have all four scobys in a nice hotel in tea in the fridge.
It is the most cider-y I've ever had this go around. |

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
One of my SCOBYs is all bumpy on the top and the other (my granddaughter) is still really thin.
I haven't even sipped it yet this batch. I have to be honest with you guys. It's time to level with you all, I am a total poser. I have the tea brewing, but I'm terrified I'm doing something horribly wrong. I think if I drink it I'm somehow going to trigger the zombie apocalypse. I can't bring myself to drink it. |

We tried the peach and strawberry ones today. I like to fizzy taste better so I may drink a little.

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
My MIL sent me a new SCOBY. Starting over today. No more placenta tea for anyone here. Seriously, that scoby was scary.

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
My booch tastes awesome!!! And it's super fizzy!!!
So I can just put chunks of fruit in there for the second ferment, right? I don't feel like juicing right now. |

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
I usually throw in chunks of fruit rather than nice because it's what we have.

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
Super excited now!!!
I have my second ferment started, two bottles of strawberry and one mango. Is there enough space at the top of this? You should have seen the head on it when I filled it! Well here you can see some of it: |

Re: kombucha 101 thread!
I sent some Kombucha tea with the kids this morning for their breakfast and told the teacher. Here's praying they drank it.
It kind of cracked me up to see her reaction, but she said nothing - so one can only wonder what she was thinking |
