Baby's first flu.
Hi all, Sophia (11mo) apears to be showing signs of the flu such as a fever 101 and a runny, stuffy nose. I am noticing some nasal congestion, my question is; I always treat myself with homeopethy but wonder about the safety during breastfeeding and/or administering it directly to her. What are products that you may be familiar with for her age? I am inclined to just let it pass, rest, vitamin c, etc. etc. Any advice? Nervous about the fever though.

Re: Baby's first flu.
It could just be a cold. The fever isn't very high for a baby.
I would just breastfeed as much as possible and if needed for congestion, squirt breastmilk directly into her nose.

Hmmm, I never thought about it being a cold. What about garlic and onion? I know it works great for me, would it be wise to feed her? I'm thinking about the immunity boost. Maybe zinc or echineacia?

Re: Baby's first flu.
Well it's morning and I can tell it doesn't seem like a cold, there's no mucus. I'm SO greatful that her temp has gone down too. She's got a low-grade fever and is playing. During the night, she slept pretty well but was a wee bit cranky so I could tell she was uncomfortable but she actually slep better than she normally does so I know her body was fighting and knocking her out. So I got sleep and I don't have any signs of cold or flu. Very curious. Well I'm just glad she's better, I'll keep watching her.
