Looking for a good Chickpea Curry recipe
I've tried a few different ones and they've just never been that great. And I love Chickpeas!! I've had some great versions eating out..
Has anyone got a tried and tested one that would be popular with non-vegetarians?

Re: Looking for a good Chickpea Curry recipe
I was taught how to make curry from an Indian friend. I really think the secret is how long they cook it when you eat out and all that ghee they add
Put onion (yellow or green) and a chunk of ginger in a blender or food processor. Blend up really well to make a paste. You saute this is in fat, oil, butter etc. Then add your spices. You can do a pre-ground blend or a mix of whole spices. I don't have a recipe I just use a bunch of whole spices and/or a curry spice I bought that comes from India. Saute whole spices till the pop or ground till they smell yummy. If you want a more Thai curry you can add some chilis and cilantro. I bet you could find a spice mix online. I just buy stuff in bulk. Now you can add some canned tomatoes, fresh tomatoes and/or coconut milk. I love Chakoah (spelling) brand. Some taste just awful. Let that cook up a bit if you want a more Indian Curry or just heat up for a Thai Curry. Now add the stuff you want. Chickpeas, red beans, small peeled potatoes, green beans, fried tofu...we had a Thai curry with avocado chunks the other day and it was so good. Indian curry can be prepared and put in the crockpot overnight to make it easier.
