Re: "To Brainwash a Parent"
Reading up on these people (this is the first I have ever heard of them) frightens me and borderlines making me quite nauseous. Some of the replies have me sitting here in amazed wonderment at how this line of thinking (parenting => forceful training => spanking with inanimate objects that can cause serious physical damage, not to mention emotional damage; yet somehow, this ties heart strings and endorses and promotes love??? Ummmm? I know love doesn't always have warm fuzzies surrounding it - but this is way off the course of love). I am amazed my own parents think down this line, and so do my in-laws - and everyone else in our families. It astounds me to no end the people who advocate in their lives (that I know personally, and many I am very close with). I can only imagine if I had never been spanked, and my parents actually communicated with me as a child/teenager, how different I would be today. Same with my husband. Wow.
