Who is making vegan Easter baskets?
So far I have kettle corn, Annie's bunny crackers, applesauce pouches, and jelly beans. I will also make some bunny chocolates by melting down df choc chips and pouring them into bunny chocolate molds. They're also each getting a toy and some water colors.

Re: Who is making vegan Easter baskets?
Well we are and will in the future. Uli still isnt interested in anything but BM so there wont be food in there this year but this is a topic Ive given a lot of though to.
We will probably do the natural jelly beans from Whole Foods bulk section in the future as well as "special fruits" and fruit leathers and maybe some type of veg cookie/cracker type things. How cool would a tradition of "bunny treats" be?! Carrot sticks and celery with yummy hummus? Oh, also I am in love with Sweet and Sarah Coconut covered marshmallows. Might do a few of those in each basket too. And dark chocolate covered almonds (sold at Target.) Bunny poop! LOL... IDK. Those are just ideas and we would NOT have all of them at once. and there would likely be a summery toy in there too and something for spiritual development like a book, movie or CD featuring Jesus/Bible. I wanted to start a thread asking what vegan folks to instead of dying eggs---and maybe instead of egg hunts too, but I suppose most people are okay with using plastic eggs. What do y'all do instead of dying eggs? |

That's a neat idea! I'll be making vegan Easter baskets. I've never been able to find completely vegan jelly beans (without beeswax). Most of my children are okay with them once a year, but my older son chooses not to eat them because of the beeswax. I'm going to Trader Joe's hopefully tomorrow and pick up some candy (and other snacks) there. I melted dairy-free chocolate chips and made chocolate crosses once, but I have a feeling I won't be that creative this year. Quote:

Re: Who is making vegan Easter baskets?
My mom always does a couple of racks of eggs from Costco. When I told the kids we wouldn't do eggs they said thank goodness. My friend decorated cookies this year and they were very cute. I had planned in doing paper eggs for our front window. We decorate that every few months. I forgot. I didn't do baskets this year. I did our kitchen table. Set out some paper grass, candies, toys and a couple of zombie movies
