babywearing friendly diaper bag
I'm looking for a messenger style small-ish bag for when I run errands and don't need to take the whole diaper bag in. DS is on my front 99% of the time, though I hope that will change as he gets older. I'm not looking for a backpack style or fanny pack style. I used to have two canvas messenger bag style purses. Of course I donated them at some point. You know, one of those few things that down the road you wished you hadn't donated?!
Anyone have any links to something that you have that works well? I've been using my shoulder style purse, which works okay if I have a shopping cart to put it in, but doesn't work very well if I have to carry the purse around. Just looking for some ideas rather than starting from zero. And not looking to spend a ton of money. I saw some babywearing bags apparently made from wraps?? $$$ Yeah, not happening. I was thinking more like $20-$30.

Re: babywearing friendly diaper bag
You're thinking not puffy, right? My old diaper bag was gigantic (great for travelling - irritating for the mall!) I hip carried Max often.
The diaper bag I just got http://www.google.ca/search?q=hop+sk...%3B1600%3B1237 Its not as tall as the picture looks, and its canvas. They come in plain black and other patterns. I got mine $20 used. I've just washed it and its soaking wet by I can take pictures when its dry.

Ha! I have that bag, but in black. Did you get it in that design? So pretty! It does do a cross-body carry, but I'm thinking of something smaller. Much smaller, like a purse size. That bag is awesome for diapers, extra clothes, toys, etc. But it is kind of a lot to take in to the grocery store, for example. It takes up a quarter of the cart space. I do really like it for other purposes though, and 20 dollars is a steal!

17 bazillion choices sounds great! Just checked and we have one at our local mall! I'm pretty sure I've been past it, but I know I've never been in. I will have to check it out. Thanks!

Re: babywearing friendly diaper bag
Here's one thing to think about, maybe for the next baby. If you have a messenger bag slung over your shoulder and have to bend over to help a small person, it's hard to control the bag, give some extra support to the baby, and help the small person. I've ended up staring at a tripped toddler when I ran out of hands to help him because if I bent over, the bag would hit him.
