Default Sprouting or Soaking?

I have just started learning about sprouting, even tried my hand at it once already with good results, however, I read on a website that soaking is just as beneficial, but takes less time. Your thoughts? Resources?

From what I've read, it seems that they are equally as good for releasing phytates (sp?), but that eating them in their sprouted form is much healthier because of the live enzymes (well, as long as you don't cook them). So for things you are going to cook, soaking is just fine, but if they will be eaten raw, sprouting is the way to go.

oh ok. Do you have any resources on that? I'm mainly looking to sprout/soak to make my own bread and oatmeals.

The book Nourishing Traditions has excellent information on soaking/sprouting.

I just got that book a coupel weeks ago. I've tried sitting down to read it a few times, but the layout and length has me . But I will try again.

Maybe you can just skip to the grain chapter.

I did. that's what I meant about the layout. I was expecting bullet points and step by step type layout, and instead it's all just one big paragraph like I'm reading a chapter book. It's fine. It's in there somewhere. I just have to read ALL of it, and carefully to find what I want.

I really like the urban homemaker's instructions for soaking. I have had fabulous results, and I thought it was a bit easier to follow than the instructions in NT.
