so, have you seen the resuable canning lids?
I saw them in a magazine and ordered a bunch. They are Tattler brand, and the lids are plastic, but BPA free, and supposedly can be used forever. The rubber rings are good for about 10 uses. I'm trying them out for the first time today, on a batch of jam. They went together easily. Hoping they seal!

Let us know how they go! I hate that I have to throw out the metal canning tops, not to mention the BPA issue. I've seen reusable canning tops, and I'm interested in how they work in practice.

Your jam lids should be popping by now.

Re: so, have you seen the resuable canning lids?
They don't pop like the metal ones, but they do seem to be sealed.
Time will tell if the seal is as strong as the metal ones. Though I had a whole bunch of Ball lids that came unsealed in the pantry after a few months this past winter. |
