What do you use in your dishwasher?
I've been using the same item as the sample that came with the dishwasher, but I hate the synthetic smell that comes out when I open it after washing. I don't use *anything* with that strong of a scent.
I also don't want to risk my new dishwasher by using something that will clog it. And it has to be something easy to get. I don't have time or energy to make my own or to show special stores to find it. So, tell me what you use. |

I've been using Finish tabs.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
I'm using Cascade and sticking with it.
I used liquid 7th Generation and I had build up in my dishwasher, it was gross!

We use the Cascade packs. Love 'em. I run it at night and don't smell anything.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
I'm using cascade packs & I don't smell it when it is running. I smell it when I open it and I can smell it on some dishes, esp my water cups.

I also use a small amount of 7th Generation Clear & Free dish deterg. - not the dishwasher kind.I get it at the regular grocery store and it works really well.I dont think they recommend using most dish detergs. like Dawn or something but this ha been ok

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
I use the Finish tabs too. I'm all for natural options, and I use them with everything else, but there were NO natural dishwasher options that actually cleaned the dishes . I don't notice a strong smell with the Finish tabs.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
I use ecover tabs and they are natural and marvelous! No issues. No chemical smell. Clean dishes.
We order by the case from amazon, but can also buy them locally.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
That's my experience, I've tried every natural option including making my own, and they all either leave my dishes grody or cause build up.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
We've been using the Method tabs, and they're fine. I hate the smell of the hot dishwasher anyway. But these ones are the only ones we've tried that don't leave stuff on the dishes.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
You just blew my mind. I've been using vinegar as a fabric softener in my clothes washer for years, but it never occurred to me that I could use it instead of expensive jet dry stuff!

Vinegar does work well for a rinse aid, though.

Re: What do you use in your dishwasher?
Oh, good. I'll use vinegar when the jetdry I already have is out.
I'll try the finish tabs next. Or maybe I just have a "bad scent" in the cascade packs. I have a very low-scent home so it really stands out to me. |
