Default What do you use in your dishwasher?

I've been using the same item as the sample that came with the dishwasher, but I hate the synthetic smell that comes out when I open it after washing. I don't use *anything* with that strong of a scent.

I also don't want to risk my new dishwasher by using something that will clog it. And it has to be something easy to get. I don't have time or energy to make my own or to show special stores to find it.

So, tell me what you use.

I'm using Cascade and sticking with it.

I used liquid 7th Generation and I had build up in my dishwasher, it was gross!

I use the Finish tabs too. I'm all for natural options, and I use them with everything else, but there were NO natural dishwasher options that actually cleaned the dishes . I don't notice a strong smell with the Finish tabs.

I use ecover tabs and they are natural and marvelous! No issues. No chemical smell. Clean dishes.
We order by the case from amazon, but can also buy them locally.

That's my experience, I've tried every natural option including making my own, and they all either leave my dishes grody or cause build up.

We've been using the Method tabs, and they're fine. I hate the smell of the hot dishwasher anyway. But these ones are the only ones we've tried that don't leave stuff on the dishes.

You just blew my mind. I've been using vinegar as a fabric softener in my clothes washer for years, but it never occurred to me that I could use it instead of expensive jet dry stuff!

I have a whole box of trader joe's sitting in my cabinet, I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I only did 3 loads before my kids started to complain "the dishes are coming out dirty!" they would have dry food stuck on them and a hazy film. Maybe it's our water or something.

Vinegar does work well for a rinse aid, though.

Oh, good. I'll use vinegar when the jetdry I already have is out.

I'll try the finish tabs next. Or maybe I just have a "bad scent" in the cascade packs. I have a very low-scent home so it really stands out to me.
