Heart of Dakota OR My Fathers World
I have a VERY active child who just turned 5. I am looking for a real hands on fun Kindergarden Curriculum. I am currently using Little hands to heaven for preschool and really like it. I am torn about which one to choose. I need a reasonably priced, hands on Curriculum. Any suggestions?
I am concerned that My Fathers World might be a little too rigid, but I am unsure about that.

Re: Heart of Dakota OR My Fathers World
MFW is only as rigid as you make it! Remember, you're the teacher and can adapt things to suit your kiddo. We used MFW Kindergarten (and still do, we're in 3rd & 4th not) and I really do like it, though we don't do *all* of it. I love the heart behind the MFW curriculum... to help our kids learn to serve the Lord above all, and be educationally prepared to do so.

Yup, this.
I don't know much about Heart of Dakota to compare, though. Have you considered Five In A Row? Or, just winging it for Kindy with learning and hands on activities he enjoys? K is sooo much fun.

Re: Heart of Dakota OR My Fathers World
I love the concept of MFW. Thanks for the info about it. We start kindergarden in the fall and I am in the process of looking at different curriculums. I only know one IRL mom that has done it and she likes it too.

If HOD is working well for you, I might be inclined to stick with it for the familiarity kwim? Though I totally understand researching/exploring other options and MFW certainly has a lot of high recommendations.

Re: Heart of Dakota OR My Fathers World
I am going to look at that one too. I have heard really good things about 5 in a row. It is hard to choose! I want Kindergarden to be fun! I have been really laid back about preschool and she loves Little Hands to Heaven. She loves to make things and is a hands on learner.
