chiropractor or podiatrist for orthotics?
I keep injuring my lower back doing absolutely nothing. I think my feet are causing the problem. I was going to go to a podiatrist but it turns out my chiro does custom orthotics and he says he does it for the mechanics of the whole body and podiatrists do them just for the feet. My chiro gets them back faster (a week and a half vs. the podiatrist getting them in 2-3 weeks) so if I get his then I can have them for a trip we have coming up when we will be doing a lot of walking (and I'm really worried about my back for the trip- I would gladly pay extra to have a better trip- no sense being stuck in the hotel room with five kids in a super fun city we don't get to see). Chiro is also closer and more convenient. They won't be covered by insurance, though, so they'll probably be more expensive. But I'm not positive my insurance would even cover them, in which case they would be cheaper at the chiropractor.

Well uou could always consult with both and see what they can do and suggest but sounds like the chiro can do the adjustments as well so may help even nore thn the orthotics alone?

Re: chiropractor or podiatrist for orthotics?
My husband is a chiropractor who does orthotics. Sometimes insurance covers it, sometimes not. It depends on the insurance. I would check on your insurance policy.
In regards to your trip, I would caution you that it takes time to get used to custom orthotics. You should only wear them an hour at a time to start and then longer stretches as your body adjusts to them.
