Re: Carpet vs. Laminate, WWYD
We've finally settled (unless he comes up with another idea that I will need to ponder.) I should have mentioned for consideration that with carpet, we would have someone else install and laminate would be installed by my husband who works 6 days a week and is finishing this addition in his spare time. Anyway, it turns out that the laminate we have downstairs is no longer available to purchase anywhere. The one box we have leftover is not enough to cover the floor in the expanded part of the living room and it will have to be replaced. (Walls will be coming down on the main level when the upstairs is finished.) There is enough of the existing flooring to cover the loft area, so we will move the downstairs laminate upstairs and then carpet the 3 bedrooms. I had settled on that idea last week, but before I told my husband, I heard him telling a friend that he didn't want to do it that way. Once I told him that's what I wanted he said it was fine, but I felt bad about making him do something he didn't want, hence this thread.
