Did I buy the right kind of nutritional yeast?
We are slowly starting to eat a vegan diet and a lot of the recipes I want to make call for nutritional yeast.... so I went the health food store and the only kinds they had said "brewers yeast". One kind had the word "nutritional" underneath where it says brewers yeast, so I bought that. Is that the right kind? There is no other information on the bag.

No, not Brewers Yeast, I don't think that's what you want. ( )
You need regular nutritional yeast, like Red Star brand with all of the B vitamins. You can sprinkle that on things, make sauces, add it to soups; it gives things a cheesy taste and it's delicious. Maybe you can return the Brewers?

not at *all* the same
BUT Brewer's Yeast is very very healthy for you You can add it to things for a very high B vitamin complex. You can also add it to dog food to prevent fleas and ticks

Re: Did I buy the right kind of nutritional yeast?
Thanks!
Well if the brewers yeast has the B vitamins, then I could still use it. Maybe in like smoothies? |

Nope, you want the yellow Nutritional Yeast. It's great! I use it all the time.
So why are you going vegan? |
