Foreign Language books/programs you love for your kids
I'm looking for German but please share anything you've loved even if it's not German, the same company might have it in German.
I'm done using my books from high school and the few things I could find at the library. I am willing to spend up to $50 but prefer to spend less. I don't need audio as I used to be almost fluent and can provide my own audio. I'm looking for books. Last edited by Soliloquy; 09-08-2017 at 09:24 PM. Reason: Updated title |

I like the "Fluent in 3 months" books.
I just started the website "Language Zen" and I like it. You learn with music. Not sure if the German one is the same as the Spanish one... |

Re: Foreign Language books/programs you love
What about reading some easier novels in German? Maybe especially some novels that were in German originally (Heidi comes to mind but I know there are others).
I will be your German e-penpal if you want, too.

Re: Foreign Language books/programs you love
Oops, I wasn't clear. This is for teaching my kids. I've tried using some books I have from way back when but it's not working well. I'm looking for something kid friendly. My library is small and has very little.

Re: Foreign Language books/programs you love
I can recommend a few titles from German publishers that were pretty user-friendly and didn't rely on translation at all between German and English.
Deutschmobil: https://www.klett-sprachen.de/das-ne.../9783126761048 Actually, most everything from that company is fantastic. Here's a link to their other textbooks: https://www.klett-sprachen.de/schule...ehrwerke/c-149 This is also a well-respected publisher with textbooks: https://www.hueber.de/unterrichten/d...zg=jugendliche The Goethe Institut might have something helpful as well: https://www.goethe.de/prj/dfd/en/home.cfm Okay, for American textbooks, I've taught with Deutsch Aktuell and previewed Komm mit! I actually preferred Komm mit! for communicative activities, but I'm not sure they're still in print. You might be able to find them used somewhere. The best thing about both of those textbooks were the videos that went with them, but they're hard to get second-hand and the publishers charge an arm and a leg. I hope that helps a bit. If I think of anything more, I'll let you know.

If you are having trouble finding the German textbooks from a distributor here, please message me. I can recommend someone.
