Spelling-U-See?

Anyone use it??

Should I just start at "Listen and Write" with my 6.5 yo (emerging reader)? Or skip to the jack and Jill?

How does it compare with explode the code? In was considering getting those again (we've some a-c) but this intrigues me...

spelling u see just came out, so i don't know that you will get a lot of reviews on it -- you could try calling or emailing the company for thoughts on where to start

Hmmm I thought it looked new. I like the idea of it. I wonder what it's like in comparison with explode the code.

We are using Spelling-U-See with my fifth grader who is very behind due to dyslexia and with my kindergartner. I really like it. We use it with tiles to build the words and has really helped them see what the words look like.

Thank you! I couldn't find that this morning...It seems like dd1 is ready for Jack and Jill. I think the Listen and Write could be great for my dd2...I don't know with her. We're doing Math U See for math this year. I was planning on dong Explode the code, I guess I still can for dd2 on the side... 'she usually LOVES worksheets but she has a hard time listening/following verbal instructions..

my original post title was "Spelling You See" and then I went back to fix it to the "correct" product name. It felt weird doing it.

The Schoolhouse Review Crew reviewed it last spring (as it was just coming out), I considered asking to be on that review, because of all the good things I've heard about Math U See (same company), but after doing the placement test, felt it wouldn't be a good fit for us. I read a bunch of the reviews, most people liked it, but it reaffirmed that it wouldn't work well for us (we're quite eclectic, leaning toward unschooling, so things that are too "schoolish" don't work well for us). After looking into that, I ended up going with Simply Charlotte Mason's Spelling Wisdom, and that's working well for us (but that's with my 11 yr olds . . . though if I'd found it a couple years ago, I think I'd have started it around age 8 or 9).
