Anyone else working on Thanksgiving??
My holiday to work this year is Thanksgiving. I am blessed to share this holiday with some very special people this year!
I am charge nurse at a 54 bed long term care/ skilled rehab facility and that is where I will be from 7am to 7 pm this Thanksgiving! Anyone else working or have husbands working?

Re: Anyone else working on Thanksgiving??
My DH will be working.
He will be working an 8 hour shift and it's double time and a half for the holiday, just in time for getting the check before Christmas. I keep reminding myself of that every time I start to get bummed out that we're in a new town and won't be with friends or family for the holidays. Will yours be holiday pay?

Re: Anyone else working on Thanksgiving??
I hope it is but last time I heard they business office was fighting with the company to get us holiday pay.....never heard of not getting time and 1/2 for a major holiday....but who knows.
My hubby and boys are going to his parents...my parents are joining me for our lunch where I work....not bad really.

My DH and I are....
but we are in Canada, so our Thanksgiving was back in October Our Thanksgiving is also a much smaller holiday here. I hope that everyone who has to work over Thanksgiving has a wonderful, and fun day, despite not being home with family |

Re: Anyone else working on Thanksgiving??
Mom23sons--I really love your attitude! The people at that home are blessed to have you! . I hope you have a wonderful day!
My mom was an RN and often had to work holidays. We celebrated on a different day. Last year I had to be at work at 4 am on black Friday. That was hard but not as bad as I thought it would be. But my store was closed on Thanksgiving. |

Just wanting to post a thank you to the fine people who are working to keep essential services going over the holiday! (As well as compassion for those being made to work retail then.) You all are awesome!

Thank you, Lisa!
I am going to cook a Turkey meal(but probably won't go all out) on Tuesday when everyone will be home for supper.....having to work around 4 schedules for work is interesting!
