Positive Discipline - Week 17
Week 17 is :Limit screen time...
http://blog.positivediscipline.com/2...reen-time.html How do you do this? Currently I allow approx. 1/2 hr of movie or you tube a day and 10-15 minutes tablet time each. I'm really concerned about this because it really adds up fast and they seem so obsessed with it. When I was a kid we each (3 of us) got to pick 1 cartoon (1/2 hr so 1 1/2 hr total) and an hour of Disney a week = total 2 1/2 hrs screen time per week. If my kids watch each others tablet turns that is 1.25 hs a day x 7 days = 8.75 hrs / week. I was trying to explain this to my hubby the other day (he grew up with no TV but is now as he calls it a geek and spends every spare moment possible at the computer or surfing the net on his phone) and I really don't think he gets it. at. all.

Re: Positive Discipline - Week 17
No one else has screen time issues or concerns??? I thought for sure this one would get some conversation going.

Re: Positive Discipline - Week 17
My oldest dsvis obsessed with tv. He would watch it all day long if I let him. we limit to half hour at night. We dont have any gaming systems so I dont worry as much about that. I would get rid of the tv if it was up to me but dh doesnt want to

Re: Positive Discipline - Week 17
We have a tv screen for movies occasionally but we have no other electronic devices in our home besides our cell phones and the office computer. I still think the cell phones get over-used at times. My little guy probably gets around 4-5 hours of screen time a week when we are home. Still, even at that I think it gets addictive at a young age super quick!
