How to keep up with the dog hair??

I'm nesting, so this is possibly kind of hormone fuelled

We have a 1yo springer spaniel. I love her, but she is WORK. and her latest 'quirk' is shedding. Everywhere. No matter how much I clean, sweep, dust, mop, everything we own is covered in dog hair. Our clothes are constantly covered. Our bed is just

She's not really allowed on the bed but she sneaks up after we're asleep at night.

I'm worried about bringing a baby home to a place that is constantly hairy

Are there any tricks that I'm not aware of to keeping on top of it?

We have a lab mix and have the same problem. If I can stay on top of the brushing, it helps. We use a furminator brush and that helps reduce how much winds up around the house.

We have this bath brush and when I used it on my dogs in the bath it gets a ton of their excess hair off and they don't shed in the house very much at all. (they make other messes though

Isnt pet hair supposed to be good for building up the immune system or something? I have a yellow lab and everything I own is covered in yellow hair no matter what I do so that is what I am going with

That's the theory I'm going with too

but I'm concerned about the baby inhaling it or choking on it or something

We have 3 fairly short haired but boy do they shed! The brushes sound like a good idea.Wondering if she is shedding her winter coat right now? My neighbor actually has her dog shaved quite close in the warmer months

I am tempted to shave her but she isn't really that long haired, especially for a springer, so I'm not sure how useful it would be.

She does seem to be shedding more than normal now, so it's possible it's a seasonal thing

I just googled because i'd never heard of them before this thread. They're kind of pricy for a dog brush

Are they really that much more effective?

We had the Furminator and it does help a lot. If you bathe her yourself, you can try using conditioner after washing - and combing really well before you rinse the conditioner. I found that to take out a lot.

The first time I used it I kept saying I got enough hair to make a whole other dog.

It's just a matter of being consistent about doing it that I have trouble with.

They do help. I just found one at a discounter for half price here and it's 30€ for the size I will need for my CKC Spaniel and Maine Coon.

But, if it saves on finding her red hair everywhere and makes her comfortable, it's worth it for as long as those tend to last. They usually range around 60-70€ around here and I nearly fainted.

The furminatior comb works great and is really worth the money. If you needed a quick fix and had the extra money I would take her in to a groomer to get all the shedding taken care of.
