I was in a similar lifestyle. BDSM. I am aware that kinks don't mean unhealthy. It just means you have a liking for something that is different from the mainstream. It is when your kinks become a lifestyle that I start getting worried about where you are going with this.
Because of the time I spent in it and the people I encountered while in the life, I have a lot of doubts about how healthy anyone can be. I am not saying healthy people do not exist in it, just that I never encountered them. I am also saying that there is a big difference between someone who keep a few toys under the bed and someone who has a playroom.
One of the biggest concerns to me about CDD is that you have an entire lifestyle that is built around punishments and a few rewards. You also have put God's stamp of approval on it and have set up a environment that pretty much kills any chance of good health breaking through. With the secular lifestyle you don't have the rebellion issue like you do when it is in God's name.
I have a few other thoughts, but the little one needs Mama and no one else will do.

This is totally not useful information, but when we were first married we were in a small group Bible study with some other young couples and decided to focus on marriage for a while. Anyway, we used "doing the dishes" as a silly code word for sex. I'm sure it's not what she meant but my mind keeps going there.

Funny. 3 years ago when we got married I actually approached my husband a d asked for this type of marriage! Thankfully he is wise and recognized I was just trying to recreate all the abusive situations I've known, and he said no.

After being raised in a Pearl style family, I honestly didn't feel safe not being abused! Even as a woman of 23 the idea of love and beatings was so intertwined that I felt like my husband couldn't possibly love me if he wasn't willing to "correct" me with a beating.

Just another example of how messed up corporal punishment makes children :'(

This DD is the weirdest thing I have ever heard about. And such a bad testimony! There are many unbelievers who have a lot of common sense nevertheless. Such people are not won to Jesus by believers who practice this DD, CIO, TTUAC and other kind of sick things like these.

I totally understand. This takes a lot of guts to share. So glad you had a DH who was able to understand what was going on. My DH has helped me avoid a lot of creepy stuff from my past too--and I shudder to think of what life would be like if he hadn't.

I'm so glad your husband saw through it. I never thought of it that way - recreating abusive situations because that's how you feel safe.

I definitely have been down the rabbit hole in reading a website about CDD.

At first I was fascinated but the more I read the more it just made me

Same here, looked into it, the more I read the more angry and heart sick (and physically sick) and absolutely set against spanking children (or wives) I became.
