the ones like "undercover mama" tanks....

how the heck does the back stay up?

I found several tutorials on pinterest & plan to make several. SOOO much cheaper than buying an undercovermama or glamourmom tank.

Hmmm, haven't heard of those but when I converted some regular bras into nursing bras there is a piece of elastic sewn in to the back and the front flap that allows for easy retrieval.

Wow, this is cool. I had no idea it was possible to buy the clips for a nursing bra. I just followed your link - excellent description / instructions. Out of curiosity, I also looked up the shipping price for the bra clips in the link. Looks like to make 2 bras (4 clips for $1.50), the total with shipping, etc. is $9.40 to make a nursing bra!! (The only thing better than that is scoring one on clearance at Target for $7.00, but that is a very rare occurrence!)

Thanks for sharing this! I am about to order some clips. I figure I will order a whole bunch and maybe make a nursing nightgown and a "nursing" dress someday when I have time too. Not sure how the dress is going to turn out, but I really wish more dresses were BF'ing friendly so I am going to make my own.

I found the clips I used at joann's. I used those large swim hooks for bathing suits and sewed a loop on the end that met it.
