I too left Facebook except a gentle parenting group I run locally.

My new American neighbour just taught me how to make sourdough. Am I fermenting things now?!

Cold with a meal. Heat kills all the good stuff

We're about to move to a larger house! The kitchen isn't any bigger, but I should be able to find more places to stash jars of fermenting foods

I have, there is a cookbook called the art of gluten free sourdough baking. It's not the same exact process as regular sourdough. I did buckwheat for awhile and brown rice. We got used to it and really started liking it. She uses water kefir as the kick start for the sourdough. I'm sorry I can't explain better, that why I recommend the book or someone who has blogged about the process. It's been awhile

Yes we are celebrating how cheap this makes bread! No expensive yeast or olive oil!!!! Today's was the best ever. Well I've made it twice and it was way better than the first, which was also good!!!!
