Re: Baby Bag by Premaxx??
Is this the type you're looking at? I haven't tried one, but just looking at it, I would guess it's not very comfortable for the wearer. The strap that goes over your shoulder and back is very narrow, whereas most pouches and ring slings have a nice wide band of fabric over the shoulder and back. You can see the difference in the HotSlings and Peanut Shells on the Target site. Spreading the weight out like that is much more comfortable.
My greater concern is for the safety of the baby. :/ I would be really nervous about airflow in a sling that gathers at the top like that. (The Lamaze and Infantino SlingRider ones look similar.) I'm certainly not saying those slings aren't safe, and I'm sure lots of mamas use them quite safely. I'm just saying you would really need to pay close attention to proper positioning in the cradle carry--making sure baby's trunk and head are aligned well, that the chin isn't pressed into the chest, and that the pouch is as open as possible at the top, rather than being gathered over baby's face. Of course you need to monitor those things in any pouch or sling, but the design of these requires extra vigilence, IMO. |

I just saw them- the strap looks very uncomfortable- I would reccommend a ring sling instead

Re: Baby Bag by Premaxx??
I had one of those Premaxx New Edition Slings and I wouldn't recommend it. It has a big raised thing that adjust the strap for you back...so you can't sit down and lean back against a chair comfortably and still have it on. You cinch up the sides with a little toggle thing, I always had to tie a knot on the other side of them so that they wouldn't slip. I don't see how it would be comfy to use the hip carry with it, because the cord would put a lot of pressure on the baby's legs. I got mine when Cole was really little and I didn't know anything about ring slings. I didn't use mine much and quickly switched to a ring sling.

I did not like mine. It was not easy to adjust and the rope thing on the sides would make a dent in his head.
I like my ringsling much better. |
