Dental Q - root planing and scaling
Has anyone else had a root planing and scaling that ended up making your gums much worse? I had this procedure about a year ago and have had nothing but problems since then.

Re: Dental Q - root planing and scaling
ouch- I'm sorry. I wonder if they didn't sanitize things properly or didn't do it properly. Is it a dentist you think is good and that you trust?

Re: Dental Q - root planing and scaling
I think they were really good and did a great job. I think it threw off the complicated ecosystem that was my mouth or something . Like you know the joke about not washing the car because the dirt is holding it together? I almost wonder if the stuff around my teeth was protecting the spaces between, where stuff can get up into the gums. I don't know. All I know is I wish I hadn't had it done. And I can't find any information online about people still suffering a year+ after having had it.

Re: Dental Q - root planing and scaling
I would call the dentist and ask about it. That sounds terribly miserable

Re: Dental Q - root planing and scaling
Not sure it would be wise to swish acid (vinegar) around teeth.

Re: Dental Q - root planing and scaling
That's a good point. Maybe that Biotene mouth rinse would be good.
