My syrup didn't thicken
I made about 10 pints of blueberry or blue/strawberry syrup this weekend. I had a hard time getting the simple syrup to the temp recommended in the recipe so just stopped about 10 degrees short. Is that why? Is there anything I can do to thicken them after I open the jar? Boil longer? Add a starch? Some of the jars are intended to be gifts.
