Re: February dinners
Turkey and black bean chili in crock pot tonight.
---------- Post added at 05:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:35 PM ---------- I have made the recipe from cooking classy in the IP before. Saute the veggies, then add the rest of the stuff and cook for 8 minutes. it is not creamy, though, so if you are doing a creamy cheeseburger type, I don't know.

Re: February dinners
Maybe leftovers. I think we have enough. Itll be close - dh or I could always have a frozen dinner if need be. I may make another veggie side even though both leftovers have veggies in them, but maybe something hardy like sweet potatoes.
DD has track try outs again, and both dc have soccer and I'm driving the girls soccer carpool.

---------- Post added at 10:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:00 AM ---------- Late to this question but LCMS doesn't do any meat-free or fasting days at all, officially. I grew up LCMS and Friday fish fries were part of local culture but not required or encouraged by the denomination. Some may choose forms of fasting or abstaining during Lent but it's not required. I just ordered this Cook Once, Eat All Week: 26 Weeks of Gluten-Free, Affordable Meal Prep to Preserve Your Time & Sanity. We're not gluten free but a friend loves this book. s |

Re: February dinners
Tonight we had cooked cabbage - which is what the birthday girl wanted.
I also had meat loaf for the other child that doesn't eat cabbage. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Re: February dinners
We had cheesesteaks last night.
Monday I was super low on groceries so I made a mixture of ground meat, onions, celery, peppers, canned tomatoes, garlic, all kinds of herbs and spices, beef broth, and rice. Simmered the meat for an hour and added the rice and steamed until done. Served in bowls with cheese. It was my husband's idea and we all liked it. I'm sure it has a name. Unstuffed peppers? Salmon with lemon-cilantro pesto and avocado cream, steamed broccoli, and oven fries. Fish sticks for those that don't at salmon.
