It's ok that you need me to help you to sleep. But I need my free evenings. I could do without lying with you in the dark for too long time, because it's very melatonin-inducing and you really take me down to sleep with you most nights. Please go to sleep faster.

Just because you kicked your covers off doesn't mean you have to get in bed with me. Go back to bed and pull your blankets up. Also, stop doing the thing where you stand at the edge of my bed, next to my face, breathing until I wake up. It's creepy and a bit terrifying.

Dear Cosleeping Child,
I really want to go to church tomorrow. Pretty pretty PLEASE could you not need to nurse constantly in the morning from about 6-9am in order to stay asleep? When I wake up to the alarm at 7am, could you please keep sleeping and let me slip out of bed to get ready, instead of stirring and then demanding "nigh-nights" and then having me fall back asleep from nursing you? We haven't been anywhere for about a year that requires us arriving before noon, and I think we could both use a little socialization.

Between bedtime and 6am my breasts are off limits. You may cuddle daddy or you may cuddle mummy's back. This rule had not changed from last night, or the night before, or the month before that. It really isn't worth trying, I won't change my mind.

I understand waking up cold and how hard it is to get warm, this is why you have a thick comforter and warm blanket in addition to the sheep skin on your bed. I don't mind you ignoring those and snuggling up against me to warm up, but please for the love of all that is holy and sacred, stop yanking off my covers so that you can more easily yank up my shirt and stick you cold hands on my stomach and cold feet down my pants.

Dear sweet DS2 who's such a snuggly boy,

I am sooo happy that you love to cuddle. Touch is my language of love indeed.
But at night time I do seem to be a different person.

I'm not good with words, but here's the pic I drew so you can see what happens...

I honestly still don't mind occasionally anyhow, but weight of body on me all the time is wearying and when I break free, you go after me.
