what is your favorite baby blanket?
and if you can give info on how difficult it is and how long it takes to knit it (I know everyone is at different speeds but more like making note if it's got some complicated 'you'll probably have to slow down' stuff)
I need to knit one and don't want to get distracted mid-way

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
I usually just do a basket we've pattern in super soft washable cotton. I don't really follow a pattern, but I tend to go with smallish needles, like 7's, and try for 3'x3' or so. I like it because it's NOT complicated so I don't need a lot of thought to pull it off.

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
You need to learn to crochet As much as I love knitting, crochet is way way faster for stuff like blankets.

Even with that I learned recently from Reb that I knit backwards - but since I somehow adapt for the problems that normally causes I'm good I will definitely be googling and trying things as soon as I'm done with my current project - hoping to finish in the next day or two! Today would be great but that would require that I be knitting instead of typing right now

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
I learned from YouTube videos. I picked it up quickly and I'm generally a slow learner for these things

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
Now I'm kind of getting excited - I sit and watch friends who crochet and are able to go so much faster . . . there are some things I'd like to finish faster

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
I generally use crochet for blankets and hats because it's just so much quicker! Sometimes I'll knit a hat but I can get a kids crochet hat finished in a few hours VS a couple of days for knitted.

Re: what is your favorite baby blanket?
I learned how to crochet as a kid, but had never done much with it, I needed a brush-up and found Crafty Minx. She has an excellent blog series called crochet school that shows all the stitches with really good camera work to show up close what you are supposed to be doing.
This was the first project I made, Lacy Baby Blanket, there was a really good pictorial tutorial to make sure you're on the right track.
