Commercial for formula & Mommy Wars - Page 2

This one just drips judgement. Most of the women are not truly accepting the other people's positions but labelling them with the way they're saying "I accept" as weird/ outside of society's normal. Even the "I accept that you do things your way" at the end with the bottle feeding mom seems defensive like she's trying to say sure, go ahead and breastfeed but leave me alone and don't tell me about it.

The commercial itself annoyed me for 1. portraying mommy wars as a real thing 2. portraying themselves as seeing the bigger picture (false, they see dollar signs, because that is their job) 3. stirring up women into more of this manufactured drama in the "oh, golly, it's just a commercial" vs "seriously, this undermines breastfeeding" hubbub.

I wish formula makers would spend their money making really good, high quality formula for families who need or choose to use it. If a mom came to me and told me she needed a formula recommendation I'd rather send her to a company with no advertising who was making the best product out there instead of the company with the cutest baby in the ads.

This is just about word for word my impression.

I find this attitude with birth too-women are being treated horribly-but it's "mommy wars" to say anything about it? I don't get it.

Because birth trauma doesn't exist, and if your labour didn't go as planned then you should be happy you have a baby. And stop judging me for using that epidural! They have epidurals for a reason, *end sarcasm.

Oh my, I thought it was the park one too (which I hate because on top of everything else I know of someone in real life whose baby stroller did roll into a lake when no one was looking and by the time they figured out where it went it was too late

)

I'm honestly not surprised by this advertisingn, but it is so LOW I would think it will drive some formula users away from the brand. I hope anyway.

I don't like either ad.

It's so stupid. 'Formula moms are the accepting ones, the ones you want to be in "sisterhood" with, and we arent just saying that because we want them to buy our brand!'

Maybe it is just my little bubble, but I think both commercials are stupid because the mothers I know are smart and kind enough to respect other choices without a commercial to nudge them in that direction. No we don't do things the same, but we don't expect you to do it our way so that we can feel good about our choices. You know that whole personal responsibility thing?
