They do eat less of the premium foods that the "cheap" food. That doesn't mean that your cost will completely even out, but your bag of food will last longer
The food you linked to is better than Puppy Chow. Part of it comes down to how much you can/want to spend on dog food. There are some really good foods out there, but they also usually come with a really high price tag. One of my favorites is By Nature, because they don't have any soy, corn or wheat all of which are common food allergies for dogs. I had my dog on it for quite a while when I was trying to see if any of her allergies were food related. I stopped using it because I didn't see a difference in her allergies it wasn't sold in any of the store near me and I was tired of making a special trip out to get dog food
