30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I need to make peace with my crock pot. Dinner time is hectic and my least favorite time of the day while I'm trying to juggle slicing, dicing, sauteeing, grilling, steaming and a baby.
I need a good, solid 30 days of crock pot recipes to put in my dinner plan. Please list your favorites or a favorite link. I'm not looking for links to a website full of recipes, but really good tried-and-true-your-family-really-eats-it kind of recipes. |

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I'm looking for more, too.
Right now my 2 most common for hectic days are chicken and BBQ sauce to make shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches. Or white chicken chili using the McCormick's seasoning package and directions. It seems like there are a lot of crock pot recipes that do involve a lot of chopping or slicing, or pre-cooking, or some other thing that you're supposed to do in the morning, but IMO, that defeats the purpose of the lazy crock pot meal. |

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I like to put chicken (either a roaster chicken or boneless, skinless ...any type of chicken pieces will work) in the crockpot with seasonings and a sliced onion...sometimes chopped potatoes and carrots, etc. and just cook all day. Simple but delicious! You can make enough to have leftovers to use for another meal and chicken pairs well with a variety of grains or pastas, veggies, etc.
I also like to make chili in the crockpot. Brown ground meat and add chili seasonings, diced onions, peppers (if desired) and cans of diced tomatoes and beans. Sometimes I will add some ketchup or salsa to taste. Each batch is different and I really don't follow a recipe. Simmer all day and serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, crackers, whatever... Makes enough for leftovers (esp. if you make some pasta the next day and have chili mac, tortilla casserole, etc. with leftovers) Last edited by momyshaver; 09-07-2011 at 06:36 PM. |

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
beef stroganoff is wonderful in the crockpot its totally not from scratch but its a good recipe
1 can cream of golden mushroom soup 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 can of mushrooms (i might add more next time) 1 lb of beef 1 tsp salt in the last half hour of cooking add 8oz of cream cheese and start to boil egg noodles. When the noodles are done the cream cheese should be melted and your stroganoff delicious. i'll have to dog through my recipes to tell you the rest, because that's the only one i remember (we had it last night ) |

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
We had a meal this week that shockingly everyone at the table said was 'awesome'.
Jar of curry sauce (similar to this but much cheaper in a two pack at Costco) Tin of coconut milk Some chunks of chicken. I threw this in the pot in the morning on low. Later in the day, when I had a moment I threw in a tin of chick peas & some veggies. I happened to have some potatoes & caulflower & carrots in the fridge so I threw those in, but really it could be anything. Just use beans if you don't have time to cut stuff up. They cooked for another few hours on high. It was so yummy. The next day I quick saute'd some spinach & then tossed in some leftovers. Yummy.

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I do have a pocket of time in the morning when I can do some prep work. It's not long, but it's pretty consistent.

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I use my crockpot a LOT. Whole roast beef, ham with your choice of glaze, whole chickens. I also make breakfast in there a lot in the winter.

Re: 30 Days of Crock Pot Recipes
I often make baked potatoes in my crock pot. Wash, wrap in foil, and bake all day!
