Hypoglycemia and vegetarianism
I have suffered with hypoglycemia since I was 11, so far the only time I have felt healthy and energetic is if I eat meat at least 1 time a day. I've seriously considered going vegetarian but I HATE eggs, and I don't think I could stomach all the beans I would need to eat to get enough protein so sustain me through the day.
Has anyone dealt with hypoglycemia while being a vegetarian?

Re: Hypoglycemia and vegetarianism
Yes. I do. I have to keep my weight down to keep my blood sugars under control. For me that is 130 or under. Optimal is around 120. I am 5'1 and a very small frame.
I need to have daily activity. I have to watch my caffiene intake. I found the diabetes info from Dr Barnard of PCRM.org to be very helpful.

Re: Hypoglycemia and vegetarianism
Me! I'm a new vegetarian, but I've found myself actually doing better with LESS protein. I don't kill myself with eggs and beans. I was really worried about the protein thing because I get so shaky, but something about the more balanced nutrition is really helping me. Primarily I just eat the side dishes around my meat eating family, and occasionally I'll add some beans to that, but I'm doing just fine without. Oh, and I do consume dairy (for now).
