Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I drink too much coffee. I need other fun hot beverages that don't have a ton of calories and/or require a ton of prep time.

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I think I need one of those Asian counter top water heater pump thingies. Because I like tea and have plenty of it, but it seems like so much work

Well, there's always hot cider... or what about flavored hot/steamed milk? A rich, homemade authentic Mexican hot chocolate?

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
We have one of these http://www.amazon.com/Sunbeam-6131-W...8899259&sr=8-1
It heats the water quickly, then all I have to do is toss in a tea bag.

Heat water in the microwave for tea and get a tea tumbler.

my SIL has an electric kettle that she loves for tea. It is cordless (sits on a base) and heats the water quickly.

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I don't think of tea from tea bags as any more work than coffee. I just boil the water in a pot, then while I am waiting, I get the tea and cups.
Hot cider? Hot cocoa with your favorite milk alternative? I think coconut milk makes nice hot cocoa. (the refrigerated kind)

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I was thinking teecino, but I am pretty sure they don't have a gf version.
I love those thermoses. We use an electric kettle. It works fast. I try to keep some different teas around. I really like coconut chai right now.

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I like milk (or your favorite dairy replacement) heated with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cardamom sweetened with a bit of honey. It like chai without the tea.

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
A table top hot water/tea kettle is a great investment. I love mine. I like to drink herbal teas instead of coffee (but I still sometimes drink the ol' stuff).

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I'm really enjoying my latest addiction: Herbal Chocolate Chai tea... it's a Canadian brand (PC) and OH.SO.GOOD!!! I can't believe that a non-caffeinated beverage could taste that good...
THere must be a version of in a brand that you could purchase in the U.S.

Re: Hot Beverage Alternatives to Coffee
I had some Teecino yesterday. We are just wheat-free here, but actually, I eat wheat
We are severely limited in counter space. Like we have one counter and it's full with stuff I use everyday. So I'll have to brainstorm.
