We sought out a Ped two years ago that was known for tolerating non-vaccers and delayed vaccinators, even though he didn't "agree" with it. We were FINE....until we had our toddler into the practice for Rotavirus and his partner saw us.
A week later, we recieved a letter that we were fired for not vaccinating. I didn't take it laying down. I went BACK. I took a printed copy of the AAP's new policy that states doctors should NOT fire over vaccine status but respect choices, even if they do encourage you to vaccinate just the same. I reminded him that NOTHING had changed since he agreed to take us, and that all I was asking him to do was respect our choices. Our children STILL needed a primary doctor, and I still trusted his medical care of my children. We got UNFIRED, but we had to promise to never see his partner again. I just lol on that stipulation, like that jerk was ever allowed to TOUCH my kids ever again! The ultimate irony? The rotavirus wasn't even ON the mandatory vaccine list the practice has. Furthermore, the toddler got it from an ER doctor who stuck his hand in the kid's mouth for a ripped gumline

We use a family dr. and always have. We have never even been asked to sign anything either way. She did go over, verbally, with us, why we wanted to skip them to make sure we were informed and not just scared. I have no problem with that.

meant to add before - our old ped did have us sign their 'refusal form' - the one that says
'i can be causing harm to my child by not vaxxing' and i scratched out that part and initialed it. they never said a word about it.....our new dr though hasn't had us sign a thing

I fired mine for horrible behavior before he tried to fire me for not being 100% compliant on vax. As a side note, that particular office did receive compensation for having its patients be compliant. The higher the %, the more compensation. Not all offices work that way, thank goodness.
Oh, and I got to fire him directly. Made me kinda happy.
