I'm in Canada, so I don't know if you can get the same stuff...but it was a Cloverdale paint, color "Spring Ahead" #7710. I simply love the green!

How did you decide how to lay it out? That's what's holding me back.
I did it simply by laying out squares of fabric on my dining room table, alternating between "dark" and "light" shaded squares. My kids helped as I went along, and I tried not to have similar (like two fish prints) next to each other. I tired not to stress, b/c really, it is just a blanket!

And those handprint hearts are *precious*. What a fantastic idea. I may be stealing that in the near future.
I wanted to make something for my littlest ds for Christmas (obviously it is a bit late ). It is perfect sized for him to sleep with, and then we lay it out on the floor to look at sometimes. The big kids like finding all the fun things and racing to see who can spot something first. I think it will be fun for littlest ds as he gets older to learn those words and particpate too. But really, even if he doesn't "use" it, it will still keep him warm at night.

And steal the hand print idea! I stole it from another lovely mama here.

Canadian mama here too but I've never heard of Cloverdale. I will look into it, our entire house is in desperate need of paint (I'm way to indecisive and not confident enough to pick any colors)

And I think I am going to do dd's hand/foot prints too -- we have all kinds of photo frames, and still haven't gotten any pics developed to put in them and I'm so sick of our naked, undecorated house. It just doesn't feel like home here.

I should have looked more closely. I just googled Cloverdale, and they have a website, but on my screen the color they show is NOTHING like what it is on my wall. It looks like it is a western Canada company, though. Go with a color you love (I have lots of green and purple in my house!) and go boldly forth and paint!

Getting in some last projects for the month.
Just finished that orange bag: sewed the liner, sewed that and the zipper in and done!
Made 3 sets of 5 knitting stitch markers and one set of 5 crochet markers. Looking at another possible 15 or so stitch markers just because I have the beading stuff out.

Earlier today I started knitting a sweater! My first one, and I'm not really following a pattern. It's a crochet pattern, but I elongated the length, using a thinner yarn (5 instead of 6) and switched to knit. I almost finished the back in crochet a week ago and didn't really like it. After two or so rows of knit, I like it much better. So I get to learn how to decrease in knit with this project.

I'm nearly finished with that project with Heart. I'll post pictures or let the recipient do it (since hers will inevitably be better than mine ) after the week-end.

OK, ladies. My final project for February is an Inside Out Easter Bunny/Egg. This month has been great as I've really used crochet as a way to get healthier after an illness. I'll be making more of these for J and the sweet nieces for Easter. It is faceless since I don't have the pompoms I need to give it facial features.
