Mould
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, so mods please feel free to move if needed
We have a problem with mould in our house. We suspect the health issue we have are coming from this but at this stage we don't have a lot of money to rectify it with I will need to replace all our curtains in the house, go room by room with some sort of hydrogen peroxide solution to spray but was wondering what else I can do that would help I open the windows in our house every day, even during winter (just a small bit!) to get fresh air in but its obviously not enough! Also, mould in my shower is an issue. I have tried clove essential oil and its done nothing. I'm considering trying a Borax paste on it to see if that would help. Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Re: Mould
Bleach is the only thing I find effective.
Where is the mold coming from? I’m sorry you don’t have the ability to fix it right now. Washing curtains and drying on hot would kill mold. If you live in a humid climate, a dehumidifier helps.

Re: Mould
If you can improve circulation that would help. Open windows, run a fan, leave a space between furniture and walls.

Re: Mould
Yes to all this. Any time you boil water, have a window open or an extractor fan running. Same any time warm water is being run in the bathroom, and if you're drying laundry indoors. If you get condensation on windows in the morning, try to clean it off as well as opening the windows. Try to ventilate the house each day, and don't let the house get too cold.

Re: Mould
Thank you for all your suggestions
I have the windows open each day but will try running our ceiling fans sometimes as well. My naturopath suggested a dehumidifier as well so am looking into that.

Re: Mould
Different country but this is what I have (https://www.meacodehumidifiers.co.uk...waAvXkEALw_wcB). Its only 10 litres but I have it positioned at the top level of a three floor, three bedroom townhouse and it does the job fully. Requires emptying daily in winter.

Re: Mould
I take activated charcoal, a binder that helps sop up toxins internally.
It's important to cut out the mold and dispose as much as possible and find the source.

How do you use this for cleaning? Do you have a recipe? Or did you mean to take it to rid the body of mould? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Mould
We're having a problem with mold as well. We're using Mold Armor, which is a strong product. My husband is allergic to dust, mold and pollen and he's miserable.
Use a good mask for cleaning, to protect your lungs from the mold as well as the bleach.

Re: Mould
It sounds like you have a humidity problem. That's the very first thing I'd address because without resolving it you are just fighting a never ending battle.
I'd borrow or buy a humidistat so that you can get an accurate reading on what the levels are in your house. We have a couple of humidistats in the house and my husband is always pretty particular about ensuring the house humidity stays between certain levels. Then if levels are high (which I'm guessing they will be) a de-humidifier will help a lot. Do you have air conditioning? That can help pull moisture out of the air too when it's hot.
