If you set priorities to giving up "poisons", give up the HFCS FIRST! That's the biggie one, and one that has been shown to actually scar the liver and cause no end of problems. A little cane sugar now and again will not kill you. HFCS will. I, personally, think that putting HFCS in practically all sorts of processed foods is the foremost culprit to the pancreatic cancer explosion we're seeing. Pancreatic cancer is exclusively environmentally based (food, environment, etc.) rather than having genetic markers, and it used to be rare and only older people would get it. Now, not so much. My dad died with it, three people out of our church have died with it in the last year (not to mention those friends and family of our church member that have been dx'd in the last few years). Many, many more people are being dx'd with it in the last few years, and I really think it's all because of the things we do to food these days, including HFCS being a main culprit.
