Hopefully he or his people will respond, and knowing if he still sees spanking as mandatory, and if he still teaches it has a (necessary) spiritual benefit, will cast quite a bit of light on whether the apparent de-emphasis reflects a real, meaningful change or whether it just reflects a change in presentation.
