We went from unschooling to structured unschooling to regimented and now consider ourselves "self directed learners
Since my D.C. Were over 9 I explained what delight driven meant and loved this book to help them wrap their brains around it

I have a learning challenged child who uses curriculum for English
and there are subjects I require
but they also have plenty of time for being free to pursue their interests. I'd be happy to give more concrete examples. My dc are 11.5, 15.5, and 17.
I explain what the state requires and offer suggestions. I do require things. It's a growing changing situation
for example, last year dd1 hanged curriculum 4 times .
