No great tips. We use an Ergo often and I can sometimes put the sleeping baby onto a bed if I leave the Ergo all around him, somewhat tricking him into thinking I'm still right there. (Not just DS, but also 2 girls and a boy I've nannied for...)
When DS was very small, swing worked often if I put him in without stopping the motion of my body--rather transitioning to match the motion of the swing before placing him in.
Are you nursing? I found that BF babies sleep waaaaay less and shorter in my care than their FF counterparts I've cared for in the past.
But maybe I'm not the best one to answer since I'm back in our shared bed nursing DS to sleep for the 3rd time in 90 minutes
