If those groin muscles get pulled or sprained they can take a good while to stop being tender.My dd had 2 - one on each side that she got from trying to kind of shimmy with both legs(if you can picture it) up the sides of one of those luggage carts in a hotel room.Next day she could barely walk & it took a good while to completely heal because when it would start getting better she would get more active and kind of restrain it.You might try things like Epsom salt baths and that kind of things as well as checking for hernias or swollen nodes etc.
