It's not quite vegan, but can be easily.
For one jar of applesauce, I put:
about 1/2 stick of butter (oh yeah)
7 peeled and chopped apples (I just used my round apple cutter dealy that cuts them into slices, then mushed them as they cooked)
cinnamon and nutmeg to color the whole thing
a splash of orange juice
a splash of water when the OJ cooked out a bit
in my electric skillet on 300 or so (sizzling, but not frying), covered it and let it sit. I think it took 15-30 minutes of me checking periodically, stirring and smushing. In the end, I drizzled some
honey accross it.
I think we might can this and gift it in the future. Mmmmm.
