What Should I Have Done?
The kids like to go to a fast food joint that offers free video games. We normally go at the dead hour in midafternoon, but this time we went during the lunch rush. Sophia was hogging a machine. I asked her to get up and give Eva a turn because we were leaving in 10 minutes. As soon as Sophia got up another boy sat down, so I said, "Excuse me, I asked my older daughter to get up so my younger daughter could have a turn, it's her turn now." I had to repeat myself a couple of times, "Please excuse me, I'm sorry, but it's Eva's turn." So his dad, who had been on the phone, told me that I should have interrupted his phone call and I was not to speak to someone else's child like that.
Opinions?
